Same here....the waterproofing sticks to the fleece better than the mortar does. I'll paint the seams of the kerdi just to give it a double whammy of waterproofing. No way water is getting into the seam that way.

Good idea, pistolpete... If I hadn't already bought a panel I'd probably do it. Got this panel from HD, fits anywhere from 10x10 to 15x15 inches. I don't even think we are going to paint it, it matches the white tub, and it will be about 4 inches

I have worked with both systems from Nuheat. If you want full coverage for an irregular area, then cables are your best option. However, it's also common to link two or three mats to a single thermostat for good coverage. I like to focus on areas
