This is where I am at this time. I will be replacing the drain to a Kerdi, but I will first have to figure out the slope angle since cut out is so close to upper wall. I hade some condensation issues where the cement blocks are along the whole back wall. I painted that with a moisture resistant. Wonder if I will still need Poly and insulation before Durock.

I can't give you definitive advice on the poly and insulation. but everything else looks good so far. Since you will be surface water proofing the pan you can run your backer board right down and then build your pan inside.
I have concerns about the stability of your knee wall. i'll bet that you can wiggle it if you bump the corner. to stabilize it get a 3 foot section of a thick wall metal pipe. Bore a hole ever so slightly smaller than the pipe into the base plate close to the outside corner. go right down to the concrete with your hole and hammer the pipe in there. then securely fasten your knee wall to that pipe.
??? I have the Kerdi drain, do you place it in with the pre slope of second mud pan. I have a very short pipe coming up from the floor. not much room to work with.

You need a minimum 1-1/4" from the top of the existing concrete slab to the underside of the Kerdi flange at its perimiter. That would require the top of the pvc drain pipe to be no more than 1-3/4" below the top of the concrete slab.
Well got it done, but it took a while. I'm still a bit worried about the mix. The sand mix worked very for a novice....I added a couple more photos. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.
