I've been using Target for many years, and am wondering if anyone has used the DeWalt D24000?
Can it hold up to daily heavy use?
What is your favorite wet saw?

Target and Felker is the way to go if you use your saw every day. The Dewalt has had some good reviews, but is not the beast that a Target or Felker is. Here's a link of the test reviews from our friend John Bridge's site. http://johnbridge.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=19208

I have to agree on the Target saws, the Tilematic models and similar Felkers(even though I don't own one now). They are proven to last and endure abuse. No need to go looking elsewhere,if you've been happy with it ...unless you need to cut tiles that are bigger than their cutting capacity. I'm really happy with my Montolit Brooklyn 30" bridge saw.Fairly easy to carry through a house and set up.It's also quiet and accurate.Great for precise miter cuts and cutting large tiles.Their blades are great too,one blade cuts anything...soft slates, granite, porcelain, stainless steel even. I even use it for small tile jobs like backsplashes ...right in the kitchen, since it doesn't spill a drop of water when cutting small tile and doesn't spray water past the tray. Still,I haven't been able to convince some of my fellow contractors around here that it a great saw.

I have had Target and Core Cut saws. Good saws but heavy for and old guy to cary around. I bought a Montolit rail saw and have to say it is way more versatile than any of the other saws (did I say lighter too)and the big point is it was less money to buy than a comparable capacity Target Still have my 24" Core Cut if anyone wants to buy it

Thanks for the link, Bri! There is a lot of good information there. I hadn't seen that forum before. (John Bridge forum)
RC, we've (my husband and I) tried looking on the web for a place that sells Montolit tile saws. We found the company's web site, but no place to purchase them. Do you know where we can find Montolit prices?
We also saw a rail saw they put on display at our local wholesaler, a Karl Dahm saw. It doesn't look nearly as rugged as a Target. And they didn't have it plugged in, so we couldn't try it. They have it 10% off. But the few products we've seen of Karl Dahm's don't seem to be long-lasting quality. They demonstrated the circular scorer, and the rep had a time scoring it, couldn't snap it, then he ended up breaking it with his hands (I thought he was going to put a slice down his arm!).
To those who use rail saws: do you see any drawbacks? Does the rail get tile dust/glue on it, making it hard to operate? Is it rugged?
Thanks!

The Montolit saw that I have is definitely not as rugged as a Target or Felker saw, but, I'm pretty easy on my tools. It's surely more versatile and less expensive.Although my Brooklyn model has been through a lot and keeps on performing with precision and seems durable(4 years...almost daily use) My brother's store sells both Montolit Brooklyn rail saws and Karl Dahm's Achilli rail saw.The Achilli saw looks rugged but it is heavier than the Montolit. Call my brother Dave www.tilemasteraurora.com and enquire about pricing and delivery. He's got a little transportation company on the side and a lot of connections in the shipping business. You have the advantage of the U.S. dollar,so maybe it'll work in your favor. No,I don't work for Dave. I'm independent of his company. No royalties unfortunately .

It's kinda hard to keep tabs on ol' Elvis, he's been spotted all over the country! My husband ended up buying the Achilli/Karl Dahm yesterday afternoon, locally. He will be glad to hear that you use a somewhat similar saw daily for 4 years. He's got a new helper, and hopefully this one won't throw the saw out of the truck like the other one did! I'll bookmark your brother's site. Thanks!

The Achilli/Karl Dahm rail saw is going back. My husband didn't like it at all. I guess they make different products for different folks, and a rail saw isn't for him. If they don't take it back, he might use that one for strictly bullnose.

Ah,that's too bad.Maybe he should look at the Super-TileMatic from Target again. I've never used the Achilli saw but my Montolit rail saw is awesome.I really prefer it over regular saws.I still use my MK saw too for certain jobs. Hope you can return it without a big hassle.

In my opinion, the Sigma Jolly 60, is the only wet saw to own. It is night and day compared to any other wet saw that I have used.

They were banned from Canada for awhile because their switch wasn't GFI approved, but they have been selling them again for the better part of the last 2 yrs. I bought one last year, ($1800.00 plus), and they have been redesigned for the better. It cuts 18 *18 tile no problem and you can rig it to cut slabs. Best saw period.
