The tec caulking won't stick to the pure silicone. It will eventually come loose. The Tec stuff will work just fine for you. Like Randall said, it does shrink a lot....so after you let the first bead cure a few days, put another of the same stuff on top. That should do the job for you.

By the way, the transparent silicone I use is from a company called Nutone.

The one you have, which is latex based, will come out of the tube white, but as it dries it turns clear. Sort of a neat idea really, since you can see what you are doing as you apply it. If you make a nice neat white joint, you know for sure when it turns clear that it will be a great job.
