Subjet: tile shower.

My local tile supplier does not have any Kerdi membrane product, but sells instead a liquid Membrane called PRP 315 that should not be apply higher than 8” on the internal shower siding. Anyone has ever tried this product to isolate the walls for a tile shower? Any good?

Kerdi product is hard to find, although I am in the Montreal area.

Thanks

That's a product made by Mapei, that I can't say I've ever tried. They have so many. ;\)
Kerdi and the Kerdi system, including the Kerdi drain is a great product, and is made in Montreal. You should be able to find it easily. Home Depot will have it. \:\)

www.tile-experts.com will have everything you need to do a Kerdi shower, and they'll ship it to your house.

Myself I always used and always recommend the liquid waterproofing, the are many brand, every contractor will recommend on one he has good experience with, I believe most are good product , if not, we will not sale or buy them.
In regard to the sheeting membrane, use it once, and will not use it again, extra time/labor and not cheap at all. Apex $120.00 for standard shower 3’ x 3, x 67 \:\) while the Liquid are 1 step ( 2 coat) process apex coverage/cost per shower $70.00 2+ gallon maybe even less.

My recommendation is the pro red from C-Cure I had lots experiences of selling and using it myself.

Try REDGUARD. It expensive as hell, but boy does it ever work.
Give it 2 coats (apply only on CBU) and then you mortar and tile!
