Has anyone used Laticrete 125 (I think that's the right number). I saw a sample of it yesterday, the distributor said it's really difficult to spread, like epoxy.

I figured it was pretty expensive, I didn't bother to ask how much. If you've used it, was it worth the extra cost/trouble? What special applications is it good for?

I haven't used it. I called around and it's pricy - over $150 for the Laticrete 125 (two component - additive and powder). It seams they have two products with the same number 125 attached. On the Laticrete website they also have a powder that you mix with water, also called Laticrete 125. Confusing.

I have used the 125 and didn't think it was difficult to spread. I described it at the time as been kind of like sour cream with some sand in it. It's fluffy and takes a bit of getting used to at first.

Robert, I didn't know that there was a 125 powder that could be mixed with water only. I need to look on the Laticrete website.

Laticrete 125 (the adhesive you can mix with water) is new for 2010. It will probably be less expensive than the version with the additive. They seem to be marketing it towards the condo market - floors with gypsum underlayments.
There is another product called Sonogrip. See www.sonogrip.com
Again, I have never used these types of products because I'm sceptical of pre-mixed adhesives.
Rob, did you use 125 on a job? How did it turn out? Any call backs?

Cool. Rob, just curious, what was your substrate, and how thick?

Laticrete 125 is easy to use , pricy , not for buildup. It is used over gypsum underlayments without the need of the primer.
