I was wondering does anyone out there always seal the grout when building a tile shower?

I always tell my customers to do it, because I never have time to come back a few days later for a one hour job. Sealer provides stain protection for the grout and makes it look nice longer.

Yes, sealer has it's place. Epoxy grout is the way to go though.

Yes, epoxy is the best, but what a nightmare to work with.

True...but I've done so much of it, that I actually prefer it in a lot of cases. Having to protect everything that isn't going to get grouted is a pain in the bum for sure...but at least when you are done...you are done. \:\)

Of course, if you've never done it before..you shouldn't...you can ruin a job pretty quick if you don't apply and wash it properly.

Mr Love

It has been some time since we used cement grout, but when we did (do), we use a grout sealer.
