HI GUYS. I,M AT THE GROUT POINT AND I NEED TO KNOW WHICH GROUT IS FOR WHAT AND FOR WHAT APPLICATIONS. I KNOW NON SANDED GROUT WILL LOOK SMOOTHER THAN SANDED GROUT BUT AGAIN SANDED GROUT SEEMS LIKE IT WILL HOLD ON BETTER AND WON'T CRACK AS EASY.

ANY PRO AND CONS WILL HELP. THIS IS THE BATHROOM AREA AND FLOOR AND SHOWER I,M WORKING ON.

Rule of thumb is: for joints 1/8" or less, non sanded grout
for joints 1/8" or more, sanded grout

As you can see there's an overlap.
When your at the overlap size I find that non sanded shrinks too much in the joints and is very prone to pin holing.

Whether there glass tile involved also influences the choice.

Non sanded grout is a bit tricky to get looking really nice and weaker. Like RC said with the grout lines. I like to mix in about 30% non sanded and 70% sanded when grouting walls. This mixture is stickier and a lot easier to apply to walls.
