I am new to this forum, but when I decided it was time to remodel a shower that has been unused for at least a year because it was leaking, I did some research and found this website/forum.
I am remodeling my bathroom, and an replacing the existing shower with tile. It had a basin and a sitting bench in the original shower, and I will be replacing the basin with a shower pan (following the Shower Floor (Shower Pan) tutorial). Here are the dimensions: 48" l x 48" w. The North side has the shower head, and the east side is where the bench (48" long) will be. The West side is the entrance, and I will need to build a shower pan and curb.
My question what is the best approach to building the bench? Should I build the bench first and construct the shower pan in front of the bench and wrap the liner over the bench, or build the shower pan first and construct the bench so that it sits in the pan (on top of the liner)?
Suggestions and detailed descriptions would be appreciated.
