Hi All,

Newbie here. I am finishing my basement and about to tile my 2 piece bath 35 sq/ft. I have a subfloor made of delta floor and 5/8 OSB which is tapconed to the concrete slab.
I not sure how to proceed with the tile. Should I use Ditra or metal lathe under the tile. Many have told me that using Dirta since it is a two piece.
Should I use Ditra or would the metal lathe be sufficient? If using the metal lathe, what size of trowel should I use to apply the thin set?

Thanks in advance,

Sorry to say, but no dimple style mat waterproofing and subflooring is meant to have tile installed over it.
All manufacturers will only recommend an installation of hardwood, engineered hardwood, laminate, carpet or vinyl.

There is a potential for unwanted flex in the subfloor system to safely say its ok for tile.
