Hey Fellas ..
I am a plumber trade, but often find myself straying outside my area of expertise - because I'm cheap I guess. Honestly, I think I can do a better job than most of the "professionals" in my area anyway - not because I know more or have more experience, but because I care more. So I rely on you guys to fill in the blanks.
I am ready to purchase a wet saw strictly for use around my house. I did a nice herringbone brick patio last year with a 7" home depot special $99 saw. It would only cut half way through the brick, I would have to chip the back out with a hammer.
At the moment I am in the middle of the master bathroom project I started over a year ago. I need to make rip and miter cuts in approx. 3/8" thick porcelain tiles 23.6" x 13.1".
I was hoping to be spend around $500, but there seems to be a large gap between $300 and $850 saws. I found two models on the depot web site that are priced so cheaply it makes me nervous. Let me know what you think about these two saws, or if you can recommend a saw in the $5-600 price range.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
