hi everyone. i have plywood subfloor. it's irregular shape basicly hallway going in to kitchen with breakfast area and hallway going away with 1/2 bathroom. i want to put heating floor under porcelain tile.
1) which system is better (mat vs free wire)
2) which system is more efficient
3) which system is cost less
4) which system is easier to installed (perhaps laying down and tile over)
5) which system should i use 120w or 240w and why.
i know i'm asking to many questions but this is new to me so i want best advise from the pros like you guys. thanks for any info. maybe you can give me website on more information and where to buy it. thanks. looking forward to hear from you.

I have worked with both systems from Nuheat. If you want full coverage for an irregular area, then cables are your best option. However, it's also common to link two or three mats to a single thermostat for good coverage. I like to focus on areas like in front of sinks, toilets, and under tables when deciding how to arrange the mats.

The mats are about twice as fast to install, and IMO easier for the novice. By the time you factor in leveling compound, the price is virtually the same. there is little practical difference between 120 and 240, as neither will draw a lot of amps. For areas over 30 square feet I usually go with 240, but follow the manufacturer's guidelines.
