My newest friends, the name Brave comes from starting the 4 year home improvement project this month AND I started FIRST on this 6 X 2 1/2 ft fiberglass shower by trying to tackle the mold 'feed'. As i stripped the old caulking, i had questions if the pan was done properly in the first place. I removed pieces on the curb and saw the liner. whew ok. then, blew my compressed air to dry and 'shot' water everywhere. now, do i wanna do it right the first time? or add more headaches later. i begin to get curious on the pan under the flooring and cut thru to find it is after all fiberglass. then realized the task ahead. this has been drying for weeks and am about to test it again with the airgun to see if it is drying. i read that i can tile on top of fiberglass correct? the pitch sure is right and i want to believe that all is well underneath. argh! i would love the 'de-construction' with a mallet, even change the liner and find out if they used a board behind the walls or will i find molded studs?? i am in a quandry and not feeling so brave after all. can EVERYONE help?? it has been bleached until etched and yellowed. is there a prep for this surface or 'destruct'?? lol
Bless all who enter here
