I am rebuilding a basement shower stall, about 3x4 feet in size.

I'd like to use 1/2 inch USG cement board around the bottom 16 inches and 1/2 denshield for the rest.

I figured the cement board would be tougher in the more vulnerable lower area.

The denshield for the rest because it is easier to cut and is lighter.

I'm sure I'll have more questions, because this is way more work than I ever imagined, even though I am a very competent diyer.
