I have walls down to studs right now. I will be adding some extra bracing and moving some plumbing etc, before reinstalling drywall- then my Kerdi shower kit. What's the best way to construct a niche between studs, and are there any special considerations when applying my Kerdi to the walls?

It's always nice to be able to line up the factory edges of the tile (grout lines) around the niche ... but not always practical. Sometimes I'll build the niche while setting tile on the main walls so that I can make everything line up .... or measure slightly short in my measurements of the niche in relation to where the tiles will line up, then build up the difference with mud (probably the best way).
