Kitchen countertop
Eight inch porcelein tile is set

Want to set surface mount sink on now-
won't be able to grout entire surface for a
few weeks

I plan on grouting the tile joints JUST under where the sink sits (so I can then put the sink in), and then grout the rest of the countertop in 2 weeks.
Will the joint where the 2 grouts meet have the proper integrity (strength, waterproof, color match, etc)

ALSO..before setting the sink on the tile should I put any caulking between the rim and the tile?

No integrity will be lost. Color match may be slightly noticed but should not be a factor. Set sink then put small bead of caulking around sink.
