I will be using Mapei kerabond + keralastic additive to set my Ditra to plywood. My question is:
If I find the consistency of the mortar too thick after mixing per the instructions. Can I make it looser by adding water if I need to alter the consistancy that is make is looser. Or should I only add keralastic?
It is understood that once it is mixed and "slaked" no more liquid should be added, only mix again to loosen.

That word "slaked" I assume it means just to let it sit. Mapei says let "slake" for 10-15 minutes.

Any advice would be appreciated. This site has been a great help to myself a first time tiler.

If you find it too stiff, you'll find after slaking that it takes very little liquid to make it the consistancy you want. Just add a bit more keralastic liquid. You'll find it's really sticky stuff, and it's near impossible to wash off after it has set..so wash your tools and anything else you get dirty right away, or it will be there forever. Remember to use just the Kerabond with water to install the tile on top of the Ditra.
