Over the weekend I added few things to my project. First time doing any kind of major construction, I have to say I had a stange feeling of pride. Watching the liner fill up with water, and not observing any leaks after a test, and then seeing the water drain nicely almost to the last drop, MAN, I never felt so proud! Even when I finished my school and got degree, I don't think I felt the same!
Anyway, not that the duroc is up, next thing is the bench and mortar bed. I am applying Blue Seal over it (Duroc), and that's where my question lies:
Do you apply the seal on the Duroc behind the bench, or just a bench itself? I am making it from concrete blocks, so I guess it should go behind, if the bench leaks, it would still cover the durcok and won't let it leak.
Qestion 2-
Also, the mortar bed on top of liner - what thicnkess should I aim for? What sould be the mortar thickness around the curb? The guides don't mention latex for mixing, only water. It seems to me that thickness of less than 1" sould be made with latex additive - correct or no? (Especially the mortar around the curb...) (My shower is 5'6"x3', and the preslope took it up around 1-1.5" around the edges, so there is ~3" to the top of the curb liner right now).
