Can anyone advise me about what would be the best type of anchor to use to fasten fixtures such as toilet tissue holder, etc. to a ceramic tiled wall in an area between studs ? Toggle bolts seem to wok but such a large hole is required. Any suggestions or experience with this would be appreciated.

I always use those standard plastic anchors ...usually the blue ribbed ones for a size 8 to 10 screw.Drill with the right size bit then hammer in the anchor (gently)and cut off the shoulder flush with the tile .

They work just fine with tile.
