Before I get to the issue I thought I will post the pictures. I don’t know if I ever would take a risk to start the project like this with 0 experiences it there wasn’t this site. Thanks to Harry for this site and all the contributors.

I have completed the work about 5 months ago. I have not applied any grout sealer and my guess is that is the reason for the color change on the grout. It's sand based gtout and it gets dark in some areas (almost black). Please let me know what can be done to avoid this. Thanks again for your help.

Nice looking, it looks as though its just dirty from dirt and oils, maybe soap or shampoos. Sealing the grout may have made it last much longer but if this was 5 years ago it would have maybe wore off by now anyway. maybe a shade or 2 of the discolor is moisture from the its last use. I would regrout and seal or epoxy it for a fee.The color of the grout is an issue too. Had it been dark you probably wouldn't have heard back from them. I don't know if I would have redguarded outside too, any moisture will be trapped inside. I hope they have a fan inside...but grout is cement and absorbs so whatever it gets it gets?...

I think that may be a mold issue there...maybe. That's a beautiful job, but a sealed compartment like that, would take forever to dry out, and I think mold may grow there in the constant moisture. Is there a fan in the bathroom? Leaving the shower door open with the fan running for a while after use, may help to dry it out. Have you tried a weak bleach solution to see if the colour comes back?

It is sealed compartment and my wife is not very good at leaving the door open. Unfortunately I couldn't put the fan inside of the shower, however there is one in the bathroom.
I will try to clean it with bleach to see if it is a mold. Thanks for info.

It is Illegal to have a Bath Fan in a shower inclosure or directly above a bathtub.

You can put one there as long as its rated for wet areas. Same goes for pot lights.

Light switches must be located 1m or more from any tub or shower opening.

I will look into this Fan situation here in Alberta. Things may have changed in the building codes last few years as they always do. RC. You in Canada or the States?

Not so much an issue with the building code as it is with our electrical code here in Ontario.
Our building code here has to do with type of ventilation system the home has. IE: HRV, whole house fan etc.
