Hi Harry, my curb isn't completely parallel to the wall. My dimensions for the wall in the five points closest to the wall on the curb are as follows: 35&1/2", 35&1/4", 35&1/4", 35" and 35".
Another five points farthest from the wall are as follows: 41", 40&1/2", 40&1/2", 40*3/4" and 41". How can I fix my curb so that it's completely parallel to the wall, so at the time that I lay down my tiles they are not uneven? Please reply.

By reading this are you saying there is a 6" difference between the closest and furthest points?

Tim,
I think he's talking about the measurements to the inside of the curb vs the outside of the curb? The approximate 6" difference is the thickness of the curb.

Peter,
Gee, that curb looks a bit rough, what happened? Also, is this on a slab or is there plywood under all that flooring? Did you do a pre-slope? Looks like the durock is right on the deck mud, if so it's gonna wick. Can you explain what and how things were done.

Jaz

I would rip a piece of lumber on the table saw so that it is about 6 1/2" wide. Secure it on top of your curb so that the edges are parallel to the back wall and the amount of overhand on both sides is approximately equal. Trowel a thin layer of thinset on the curb faces and quickly trowel on fat mud, striking it along the face of the 1x that is the screed on top of the curb.

Let the mud set and firm up a bit before screeding again and finishing the surface with a wood float.

Don't feel bad, the first curb I did wasn't very good, either. \:\)

I had a hard time over the last time 2 months. Here i am again, my shower base is done. Since then, I believe the moisture in the shower base has evaporated making my base solid. After this, I have the intention to place Ditra 6 inches high around the perimeter of the base, over the curb and over the base itself. Does that sound like a good idea? The following are pictures of:
(i) my shower base
(ii) my shower's ceiling

I want to place a cement board over the ceiling since I'm going to tile over it too. How should i go about doing this?
Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

I think you mean Kerdi not Ditra.

Take out the existing ceiling and replace it with cement board or just cover the drywall ceiling with Kerdi.

no , it is not a steam..it is a normal shower,. My walls made of cement board with plastic at back. My ceiling is made of drywall, originally and stay the same. I have the intention to place a 1/4 inches of cement board on top OR place a plastic and cement board. While placing the exaust fan, noticed that ceiling has been dropped , due to shape of roof. And want to do the right way..I allready have placed the walls. I dont know yet aout how heavy is my tiles. PLEASE advice.
