I have just received my pre-fab acrylic shower base which is slighty different to what the online drawings show. The actual shower base has a piece of plywood fixed to the underside so you can lay it directly on to your plywood floor.
As I mentioned previously I have half an inch fall over 5 feet (the length of the shower base).

Would you shim up the low end with cedar shims and pour a thin mortar bed at the low end and feather it out to nothing so that the the base is level? Is this strong enough to hold the shower base flat on the floor without it wanting to move under your feet...

AND/OR

Screw the flange to the studs on the three sides of the shower alcove. This flange will not be visible as the tiles will cover this once complete.

Could it be the plyboard was for installed for shipping and should be reomoved? Either way you should put down a thin layer of mortar (not thinset). Then gently rock the shower into place until it's level. For a thin 1/2 inch you could get away with a medium bed thinset, up to 3/4 of an inch. You want the pan level, dont try and level the
pan with thye screws.
