I understand that you guys are in my neck of the woods.Do you know of any good outlets to buy specialty tools and material such as 2x2 mesh(for reinforced mud beds)?I'm having a hard time finding stores even in the big city that caters to guys like us.And I don't like supporting Home Depot.Feel like a putz having to go in there sometimes,especially at 3 in the morning because I'd forgotten to buy something at my hardware store before they closed.

It seems to me that "Weston Tile" used to carry a lot of stuff for the hard core tile setter. It's been years since I've been there though.
What general area are you in? .... North of Toronto?

Have you tried your local machine / welding shops. They usually carry various gauges of the heavier lath and they might even bring it in for you if you pick it up right away.

I used to have a problem with the Home Depot too...untill I needed a bag of thin set or something , when everything else was closed...saved my butt a few times, I must say....but I find what I need in the most unlikely places...Farm Co-op's...small town lumber yards...I even found a great notched trowel at a flea market for $3 bucks...use it all the time! I'm a few hours from Toronto, so I avoid going in unless it's really nessesary.
